  • MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE


    To provide specialist support in Litigation and Regulatory matters to the team, aiding the business in managing liability and regulatory work across the company’s operations, with a particular focus on handling relationships with external counsel and authorities, particularly in the UAE and other Arabic-speaking countries.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
     

    • Supports on a broad range of issues arising out of claims and other contentious legal matters, while assisting senior members of the Legal Affairs team with external counsel and authorities in relevant jurisdictions, particularly the UAE and Arabic-speaking countries.
    • Assists with regulatory work which arises across the UAE and, in the form of research, advisory and legislative work.
    • Establishes and manages relationships with internal clients across the company, as well as local and international law firms and regulatory authorities, to achieve on-going objectives as well as effectively completing daily responsibilities.
    • Performs legal and/or factual research and investigations as specifically assigned.
    • Analyzes data, recommends courses of actions, and prepares concise reports summarizing findings for management.
    • Supports the company’s Finance department in establishing operations in foreign jurisdictions and handles other related branch work that may arise from time to time.
    • Assists with the set up and implementation of a litigation reporting and claims handling process.
    • Oversees and administers the company’s Powers of Attorney documentation, conducting an annual review and update from the Chairman to senior employees, as well as those for outstation and any other necessary parties.
    • Oversees updates in local regulations (federal and Dubai law), examines gazettes, and identifies any new regulations that may be applicable.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED


    Minimum Education Level 

    ·       Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)

    Education Specific Requirement (if applicable) 

    ·       Law / Legal Studies

    Certifications (if applicable)          

    ·       Practicing certificate or equivalent preferred (if candidate has this, then 3 years of PQE is required to be considered for this role).

    Professional Experience   

    ·       Experience in aviation is preferred.

    ·       Previous in-house experience beneficial but not essential

    ·       Experience in the GCC is beneficial but not essential.

    ·       Excellent PC skills and proficient in use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    ·       Excellent English and Arabic language drafting skills.

    ISR REQUIREMENTS

    Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
