New Flight Dispatcher Programme

flydubai calls motivated Emirati high school graduates to join its Flight Dispatcher Programme and take the first step toward a specialised and rewarding career in aviation, under the sponsorship of flydubai and Emirates Aviation University (EAU).

Delivered in partnership with Emirates Aviation University and the UAE’s aviation regulator General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), this programme equips future aviation professionals with the knowledge, discipline and practical experience required to become licensed flight dispatchers for flydubai.

Programme Structure (Approx duration of 5 Years, consisting of 4 Phases):

Phase 1: Inhouse Induction (1-2 months)

Participants receive an introductory exposure to core airline operations, including:

  • Flight Dispatch

  • Operations Control

  • Network Control

  • Flight planning

  • Navigation

Phase 2: University Flight Dispatch Initial Course (2 months)

This phase includes:

  • Intensive theoretical aviation training

  • Examinations delivered at Emirates Aviation University

  • Preparation for regulatory standards

Successful candidates receive a GCAA approved Flight Dispatcher Certificate (CAR PART II).

Phase 3: Practical Experience (On-the-Job Training - Minimum 1 year)

Candidates who pass Phase 2 and meet GCAA requirements enter structured On-the-Job Training, which includes:

  • Operational experience in live airline environments

  • Supervision by authorised assessors

  • Practical exposure to real dispatch operations

Completion of this phase qualifies candidates to apply for a GCAA Flight Dispatcher License.

Compensation during Phases 1, 2 and 3:

  • AED 6,000 per month

Phase 4: Flight Dispatcher Employment (3 - 4 years)

Candidates transition into operational roles as an Officer - Flight Dispatch

Responsibilities include active flight dispatch operations, with continued training and career development

  • Starting salary: AED 16,000 per month

  • Performance based progression and milestone increases

  • Ongoing GCAA certified training and upskilling

Successful completion leads to graduation as a Senior Officer - Flight Dispatch

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 18 to 24 years

  • Valid UAE passport and Khulasat Al Qaid (Family Book)

  • High school education (minimum grade 80% overall)

  • Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)

  • Emirates Standardised Test (EmSAT) requirements: English, Math and Physics

  • Medically fit

  • Ability to work shift schedules

  • Ministry of Education attestation for all certificates

  • Completed National Service (if applicable)
